Christie Cotton, the Vice-President of the United Leadership Alliance of Houston, Texas, has been working in the education sector over 17 years in various positions. I am a highly accomplished professional with diverse experience in education where my knowledge has contributed to continued professional growth and development in students. I received my B.S. degree from the University of Houston. I also have a Masters from Lamar University in Mental Health Counseling.
I started my wonderful teaching career in Alief ISD where I taught for 5 years. Then moving into the Fort Bend area, my education career continued in other local districts around the area where I also took on the responsibilities of educator, school webmaster, specialist and then partner teacher for a Dual Language program. My accomplishments and awards consist of teacher of the year in 2 area school districts and the Houston Area Alliance of Black Educators.
My belief: Children must be reassured that they can and will achieve success. My goal as an educator, coach and mentor is to provide them with the tools and skills to be productive in their learning.
